Welcome to our Community and Family, the Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church

The Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Orthodox church is a Christ centered and Spirit filled family and community. We are under the spiritual leadership and arch-pastoral guidance of His Grace Bishop STEPHAN, Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Kiev Patriarchate. Our pastor is the Father Theodosius Walker.

The outside of our new church before we started the remolding. We were able to purchase the building through the help of Father Boris' parish, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Fathers Theodosius and Anatoly standing in front of the new sign and cross in front of the church. The cross was donated to the church by Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Hobart, Indiana
Because of the donations from several individuals and churches, we have received liturgical items, icons, vestments, and other church items which were not being used. If you or your church has any items not being used and would like to help our mission parish grow, please contact us. We can also use your financial help to continue your work of spreading Christ's message.

We are located at 1000 South Michigan Street, just off the downtown area of Plymouth, Indiana. We invite all to join us to worship Christ in Truth and Spirit every Sunday at 10 am.

We have continued to grow since our mission parish started in a store front in downtown Plymouth, Indiana.

Each year we have blessed the river running through Plymouth and several of the nearby lakes. One of our members was ordained deacon in our small store front mission. Later he was ordained to the priesthood and serves in a mission parish in South Bend, Indiana.
At Nativity our first year, the pastor of the Roman Catholic church in Culver, Indiana, allowed our mission to use his church for Nativity Eve services. The numbers in our mission continue to grow each month.
There have been weddings, including Father Theodosius' daughter Alda and her husband Rich. We have been visited by many people including Bishop Sheridan, the retire Episcopal bishop of Northern Indiana whose parish Father Theodosius was once a member of.
The children's choir of St. Nicholas Homewood brought their angelic voices to our mission. Following 9-11, Archbishop Michael, UAOC, visited our mission to tell about his experiences at Ground Zero.

Each month more people are discovering why the oldest church in Christendom is suddenly the newest thing in Christianity. More and more people, men, women and children, are coming to Jesus Christ! Weddings, baptisms, and powerful commitments to Christ are happening. All this is happening because of your continued support and help.

As the Church has done since 33 AD, we continue to pray unceasingly. We thank you for your prayers and support. Please continue.

Your prayers are needed. Your support is needed.

We did not know how many, if any, Orthodox were in the Plymouth area when the mission was started. It started with our priest and one member. Today there are many more. Each week both the unchurched and lapsed Orthodox join us for the Divine Liturgy. Many are returning to the Orthodox Church because for the first time they can hear the Divine Liturgy in English, rather than the language of their grandparents. They are returning home! Others who had never heard of the Orthodox Church before are discovering the faith of the early Church Fathers and finding the fullness of Christianity.

We could not have done this without your prayers and support We can not continue to Christ' work without your continued prayers and support.
