13th Midwest Scholastic Championship

May 11-12, 1996, Griggs Reservoir, Columbus, OH

Ten heats were completed, including head races for two of the Novice events with over 14 entries.  The cold temperatures, continuing rain, fast water conditions on the Scioto River and floating debris, caused the officials to postpone the regatta until Sunday.  Even a revised plan to run all finals as head races was scuttled when the conditions did not improve on Sunday.
