Vacation Bible School- June 14-18, 2010What a week! We had a great time getting to know some new children, and, had the opportunity to get to know some returning VBS'ers better. We are proud of each of the kids who worked so hard to learn our VBS Bible passage. Here are some pictures of the weeks' events.
A severe thunderstorm with hurricane-force winds ripped through Michiana the last evening of VBS, downing hundreds of trees and power lines and leaving thousands without electricity. We were no exception. Of course, our VBS'ers were no strangers to storms (having just reviewed the lessons of Jonah, Jesus walking on the water, and shipwrecked Paul). So...we broke out the Christmas candlelight service candles and the adults held the candles as the children sang, recited their verses, and reviewed all they learned thoughout the week.
![]() We even managed to eat our traditional last night snacks by candlelight in the basement. While trees were uprooted all accross town and the entire region, we once again saw that the safest place in the world is being exactly where God wants you to be! Wouldn't have missed it for the world! ![]() Courageous Diane gives her voice a raise as a song leader!

There were about 400 pastors and wives there from all over the nation. The purpose of the conference is to encourage the pastors of small town churches, According to Francis A. ![]() SingspirationOn April 18th, the church held a "Gospel Singspiration" (organized by Robin Minix and Kathie Huhn). About 8 different churches were represented as we sang praises to God and looked forward (in song) to our final destination in heaven. Unfortunately, we don't have pictures of all the groups that performed, however, we do have a number of photographs that can give you an idea of what the night was like. Pastor Huhn started the service by leading praise songs after reminding us that singing praises to God is the "language of heaven"
