Minutes of the October 18, 2025, Cass County Amateur Radio Club Meeting

The Meeting was called to order at 9:01 a.m. by Marion, KA9BYN, Vice President, in the absence of Tom, KB9WSL, President.

Secretary’s Report:

Ed, K9PSR, Faux Secretary, presented the Secretary’s report in the absence of Jerry, KD9TSH, Secretary. The minutes of August 16, 2025, meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report:

Dave, N9WCQ, presented the treasurer’s report.

CHECKING ACCOUNT:

Balance as of 09-20-25 was $678.45

Deposit $11.00 Donations Received.

Deposit $20.00 Dues Paid.

Check to U. S. Postal Service for $63.00 for P. O. Box rent. (6-Months)

ENDING CHECKING ACCOUNT BALANCE was $646.45

SAVINGS ACCOUNT:

Balance as of 09-20-25 $1,457.22

Deposit of 16 cents Interest Payment

ENDING SAVINGS ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS $1,457.38

Grand Total of both Checking & Savings $2,103.83

The treasurer’s report was approved as read.

Bills:

There were no bills presented.

Repeaters: 

All repeaters working with no problems reported or observed. Marion, KA9BYN, reported that he tests each repeater on occasion to assess the proper function of each.

Field Day:

No discussion.

NCI Hamfest:

It was reported that of the associated sponsoring clubs, there was mild interest in keeping the event going, but no interest in taking on chairmanship. A brief discussion followed about other options?

Old Business

A letter was sent to add the club’s name and callsign to the ARRL’s petition supporting legislation requiring HOAs (Home Owners Associations) to allow amateur radio antennas. Support is still being solicited from individuals or groups.

New Business

There was no new business.

Thoughts / Concerns

Club elections of officers will be in December.

There was a brief discussion about having a social event for members and guests, such as a picnic, or meal at a local restaurant. This could be before the end of the year.

Miscellaneous Information

There was a $6.00 donation.

As there was no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:24 a.m.
