Minutes of the April 18, 2026, C.C.A.R.C. Meeting

The Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Ed, K9PSR, Vice President.
Secretary’s Report:
Jerry, KD9TSH, presented the minutes of March 21, 2026, meeting. The minutes were approved with one change. Under “Bills” [From] Equipment Insurance (with AARL) for one year -- $254.80 [To] Equipment Insurance (with ARRL) for one year -- $254.80
Treasurer’s Report:
Ed, K9PSR, presented the treasurer’s report, in the absence of Dave, N9WCQ.
Checking Account Balance as of March 21, 2026 -- $1,080.36
Check for $254.81 to Dave Wandrei for reimbursement for payment of club’s equipment insurance policy
Ending Checking Balance $825.56
Savings Account Balance as of March 21, 2026 -- $1,458.30
Deposit of $0.19 for interest payment.
Deposit of $35.00 Donations received
Ending Savings Balance $1,493.49
Total of both Checking and Savings $2,319.05
The treasurer’s report was approved as read.
Bills:
$63.00 for 6 months for Post Office Box rental.
Motion and passed to pay the bill.
Repeater Trustee
In the recent passing of Marion, KA9BYN, we had a recommendation for Sven Barkman, K9SEB, to become the repeater trustee. We had a motion and passed for Sven, K9SEB, to step up to become the new repeater trustee.
Net Control Manager
Net Control Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a schedule for the weekly nets on the 147.180.
Tom, KB9WSL, agreed temporarily to be a net manager.
Repeaters
Sven, K9SEB, our newly elected repeater trustee, did not have a report for us today.
Field Day
Dan, KV9N, agreed to oversee this up to a point. Dan, KV9N, has no problem doing the paperwork for this as well.
Election of President
We had a nomination for Dan, KV9N, to become president. We had a motion and voted in Dan to be president.
Inventory/Membership/Website
Dave, N9WCQ, going to take over the membership list.
Jerry, KD9TSH, going to take over inventory control and website. Jerry, KD9TSH, will look for some web design software to use to create and maintain the website.
Next Meeting
The May meeting will be held at Silver Lake in Logansport. This will be May 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. We will have breakfast and meeting. This has been changed because the next meeting will be held the same weekend of Hamvention.
Comments/Suggestions
Tailgate/Swap meet – Have this a church, we can have the church sell concessions. Members had a brief discussion on this topic and couple churches in Logansport were mentioned for this activity. Jerry, KD9TSH is going to reach out to the surrounding counties and see what they think and try to get some possible dates if we are going to go forward with this. May set up a station during the tailgate/swap meet.
Ed, K9PSR, had a brief discussion on how to communicate with all the club members.
Ed, K9PSR, brought in couple items to raffle off.
Fulton County ARES will be doing a POTA event on May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bob Kern State Nature Preserve in Rochester, IN.
Miscellaneous Information
We had a $14.00 donation.
No other business meeting was adjourned at 10:18 a.m.
