Minutes of the August 15, 2026, C.C.A.R.C. Meeting

Dan, KV9N, President called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Secretary’s Report:

Jerry, KD9TSH, presented the minutes of July 18, 2026, meeting. The members approved the secretary’s report as read by Jerry, KD9TSH.

Treasurer’s Report:

Dan, KV9N, presented the treasurer’s report, in the absence of Dave, N9WCQ.

Checking Account Balance as of July 18, 2026 -- $867.56

Deposit of $34.00 Donations received.

Ending Checking Balance $901.56

Savings Account Balance as of July 18, 2026 -- $1,494.04

Deposit of $0.19 for interest payment.

Ending Savings Balance $1,494.23

Total of both Checking and Savings $2,395.79

The members approved the treasurer’s report as read by Dan, KV9N.

Dan, KV9N, believes he is finally on the accounts at the bank. They are waiting for Dave, N9WCQ, signature; due to a form change.

Bills: 

During the meeting we had no bills submitted.

Net Control Manager

Tom, KB9WSL, will be working on September’s schedule for net control. Tom also reminded everyone that Jerry, KD9TSH and himself (Tom, KB9WSL) are busy on the second Thursday of the month for the Fulton County Amateur Radio Club meeting.

Repeaters

Sven, K9SEB, reported that all three repeaters are responding to him when he keys into them. At some point Sven, needs to get in the 147.180 repeater site.

Field Day

Dan, KV9N, had no updates for Field Day.

Special Events (Pass, Future, and Current)

VOA Museum – Fred, KC9KLL, was not present at the meeting to give an update on this. 

Inventory/Membership/Website

Inventory – Jerry, KD9TSH, would like to start inventory right after September’s club meeting.

Website – Jerry, KD9TSH, if the club would like the minutes posted on the website. It was decided to post the minutes on the website.

Reports from other clubs

Tom, KB9WSL, reported Fulton County ARC are wrapping up putting dual band radios in Akron and Fulton Fire Departments. Fulton County ARC is also going to be in a parade in Rochester on August 22, 2026. This fall is going to be working on the radio station at 911 Dispatch.

Comments

Tom, KB9WSL, made a comment about the National Weather Service (NWS) for Northern Indiana going to have three online Training opportunities on September 5, 2026, and September 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EDT, and September 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. EDT. You will need to preregister for these training events. You only need to attend one training session. You can read more about this at https://www.weather.gov/iwx/Spotter_Event_List. This is the same training they do in person. It is recommended that you take this training every two years.

Ed, K9PSR, heard something about TOTA (Towers on the air). Ed also asked if anyone had seen the club’s banner. The banner is at the EMA. However, the banner has an old email address on it.

Miscellaneous Information

We had a donation of $28.00.

Next month’s meeting will be Saturday, September 19, 2026.
