Minutes of the March 21, 2026, C.C.A.R.C. Meeting


The Meeting was called to order at 8:59 a.m. by Marion, KA9BYN, President.

Secretary’s Report:

Jerry, KD9TSH, presented the minutes of February 21, 2025, meeting.  The minutes were approved with two changes. Under “New and Old Business” [From] Field Day – We are going to be needing some operators, help setting up antennas and radios, some to organize getting food if we want to eat, and some to send out press releases, etc. [To] Field Day – We are going to be needing some operators, help setting up antennas and radios, someone to organize getting food if we want to eat, and someone to send out press releases, etc.

Treasurer’s Report:

Marion, KA9BYN, presented the treasurer’s report, in the absence of Dave, N9WCQ.

Checking Account Balance as of February 21, 2026 -- $810.36

Deposit of $250.00 Donation from the Kokomo Amateur Radio Club

Deposit of $20.00 Donations Received.

Ending Checking Balance $1,080.36

Savings Account Balance as of February 21, 2026 -- $1,458.13

Deposit of $0.17 for interest payment.

Ending Savings Balance $1,458.30

Total of both Checking and Savings $2,538.66

The treasurer’s report was approved as read.

Bills: 

Equipment Insurance (with AARL) for one year -- $254.80

It was agreed that we pay for the equipment insurance.

Repeaters:  

Marion, KA9BYN, reported that all the repeaters are up and running.

Field Day

Loop antenna – Marion, KA9BYN will be working on this. Marion says there is around 500 feet.

Be thinking about volunteers to help with the Field Day.

New and Old Business

Club activities -- Fred, KC9KLL, asked us all to start thinking about some club activities this year. It was also asked if someone had a fox for a fox hut. Jerry, KD9TSH, commented that he has two foxes.

Comments/Suggestions

Marion, KA9BYN, informed everyone present at the meeting that there is a rumor going around that Dave, N9WCQ, resigned being the club treasurer; however, this is not true. Dave contacted Marion about this due to hearing this himself and wanted to clarify that this was not a true statement.

Is anyone interested in having a tailgate event?

Miscellaneous Information

Fred, KC9KLL, gave a demonstration on some ham radio items he has made.

We had a $35.00 donation.

No other business meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
