Hello! Remember me? For more than 200 years, I've been called Ole Glory, Stars and Stripes, or just flag! Whatever they call me, I'm your flag! Your flag which we honor and serve is the emblem of our unity, our power, our thoughts and our purpose as a nation.
More than one country has tried to being us down, only to feel the fury of this freedom loving country. Many or you had to go overseas to defend me. Marching into battles with unwavering courage, leaving your wives, children, and friends behind.
Now, when I wave think of all the places I've been, Normandy -- Iwo Jima -- Battle of the Bulge, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf and many other battlefields. Where men and women fought and died to keep this nation free. When you salute me -- you salute them. Some were family members, friends or maybe they went to school with you. That's who you're saluting -- not me!
When you see me, stand up straight and place you right hand over your heart. REMEMBER: So long as people treasure the priceless privileges bought with the blood of our forefathers. So long as the principles of truth, justice and charity for all remain rooted in human hearts shall continue to be their enduring banner of the United States of America!
GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.!!
