Stephan, Metropolitan Alexis, and Archbishop Michael responded to the nation's
call
to help with the
recovery operation in New York City following the terrorist attack on the World
Trade Center. These hierarchs of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church
spent more than two weeks in New York City helping comfort families of
victims
of the terrorists' attack on the World Trade Center, consoling many of the
workers and volunteers in the recovery operation, and participating in
many of the community
prayer services. Their story is told in photographs. You can see

After Archbishop Michael returned home, he visited the Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Plymouth, Indiana. While in Indiana he lead several community prayer services for the victims and their families, as well as spoke before community groups in Plymouth, Culver, and Ancilla College, telling what was being done in New York City.
