MSRA Executive Committee, following coaches meeting
May 12, 2007

Present: Alfonso Morales, Don Saer, Scott Sitek, John Gaskin, Frank Sands, Guy Weaser

Discussion of regatta management: (ideas that were kicked around)
-- One event per person? (not yet)
-- Separate sweep and sculling into two regattas?
-- Separate event (no points and no medals) for B-entries?

Boys and Girls Varity 8+: progression to the finals for these two events will be after 15 entries, 4 boats will progress to semifinals
up to 14 entries: 2 heats with 3 from each heat advancing to the final
15 to 21 entries: 3 heats with 4 from each heat progressing to 3 semifinals.

Add (beginning 2008) Junior 4x and lightweight 2x these events will be scheduled preceding the corresponding varsity event.  The continued inclusion of these events will be revisited next year.  These were added to match an event in each the USRowing Youth National (lightweight 2x) and the SRAA Championship (Junior 4x).

Events requiring a semi final will have their heats raced first on Saturday, with their semifinal raced to the event progression along with the other heats scheduled for Saturday.  In 2007 we had semifinals in Novice, Junior and Varsity 4+s. In 2008, likely the Varsity 8+ with its new progression with also have semifinals.

We are looking to expand to three the number of locations that could host the championship, but we are still at least a year away. Cincinnati will host in 2008
