MSRA Executive Committee, following coaches meeting
May 8, 2004

Present: Don LeBlanc, Alfonso Morales, Paul Orto, Frank Sands, Guy Weaser
Guest (Youth Comm. member): Chris Swartz

Registered Regatta status for the MSRA championship
The Executive Committee agreed to have the regatta NOT be a registered regatta.  USRowing organizational membership will not be required for 2005.  Thus the Association will make use of other insurance options and crews will need to petition to attend the USRowing Youth Invitational (assuming the rules stay the same as they are now).

MSRA Regatta entry fees
Currently the entry fees are: Eights $30; Fours $20; Doubles/Pairs $15; and Singles $10 with a cap of $250 and an insurance fee ($30) and plaque fee ($30) added on.
Among the options suggested were raising the cap to $350 or charging a $10/person fee without boat entries.  The Executive Committee agreed to move the cap to $350 for 2005, and eliminate the $30 insurance fee but retain the $30 plaque fee.

Current MSRA bank account balance of over $5000. Future uses of the organization funds:

Date of the MSRA Championship Regatta: The regatta will continue to be the 2nd full weekend in May.

Site bids for 2005 Championship: both Stony Creek, MI and East Fork (Cincinnati), OH offered their sites for May 2005.
Members of the Executive Committee are to receive opinion from the schools in their area for a decision by early June.

Executive Committee decisions: July 2004

2005 regatta site: Cincinnati, OH

2005 championship regatta date: May 14-15

Executive Committee decisions: December 2004

2005 regatta: USRowing Registered Regatta.  All member schools must become a USRowing organizational member for 2005 ($100/$250/$325/$500), however the 2005 MSRA annual dues are waived and the Association will pay for the sanctioning fee for the Championship regatta, thus there will not be a $30 insurance fee added to the entries (see above $350 cap + $30 plaque fee).

Loyola Academy had requested a change in the heat schedule for the Boys Varsity 8+, to accommodate their prom.  The Executive Committee turned down the request
