For many years now we have been developing extrication with the use of wreckers.   James Lyon had twenty-two years with a small local fire department that covered a stretch of U.S. 30 near Groverton, Indiana.  This area included a truck stop, so the department covered many bad accidents in the years James Lyon was with them.  When the cars started to change from the big boat style to the ones we have now that are made to collapse, James could see places where a wrecker could be of help.
In the fall of 1989, we moved our service twelve miles east to Plymouth, Indiana where we first met Pee Wee.  Like many others we had to show him what we could do.   He liked what he saw and has since been working with Lyon Wrecker and the Indiana Towing & Wrecker Association.
'Pee Wee' has great motivation.    Raymond "Pee Wee" Warren, Firefighter First Class, says "Extrication is my life." Pee Wee has been a firefighter for more than 25 years and an Emergency Medical Technician for 15 years.   He is a state EMS Extrication Instructor and also heads the Plymouth Rescue Squad. This article written by Ida Chipman, Tribune Correspondent, was printed in the South Bend Tribune on May 19, 1999.
